Selena Gomez Felt "Pressured" Into Being "Sexier" During Her Revival Era
Selena Gomez recently opened up about feeling "pressured" into trying to be "overtly sexy" during her time her album Revival released in 2015. The 28-year-old singer/actress/producer recently told the magazine Allure that this was not the image she was trying to go for and I wondered if her record label was trying to tell her otherwise.
Gomez said, "My intention was never to become a tabloid," Selena added. "So when things kind of happened that way, it got out of control. And then I was like, 'Wait, none of this is true.'" Gomez continued by saying "I just did things that weren't really me," she said. "There was pressure to seem more adult on my album, Revival. [I felt] the need to show skin... I really don't think I was [that] person."
Gomez didn't go into too much detail on if someone from her team or if her record label had told her to be doing this but she did say that she is in "full control of her life" again.
"I am in full control of my life and everything that I do, what is out there, everything," she said. "So I would like to say, yes. I'm in charge of everything in my life."
At least now Gomez is finally able to live her life the way that she wants to and doesn't have to deal with certain dramas of trying to be sexy. Personally being sexy can come in different forms and it doesn't always have to be showing skin so good for her.
